Chan Architecture redesigned the disconnected kitchen, living and dining of this double storey brick home into a central open area overlooking the pool.
This home renovation was a challenging build from a structural perspective as it required propping of the heavy double brick masonry upper floor whilst the new ground structure was created.
The result however, is undoubtedly dramatic, with American Oak floors and dark timber panels guiding ou through the hallway, cleverly hiding bathroom, laundry and pantry doors; then expressively revealing the modern light filled living space at the end.
Glazed face brickwork with huge glass sliding doors then open up to an inviting refurbished pool and entertaining area.
A new master bedroom, walk in robe and a moody but stylish ensuite were also created, as well as a first floor terrace overlooking city skyline views.
Whilst the English Cottage character was retained for the front street scape, this new modern extension is certainly anything but quaint.
